Daily Feng Shui Tip 8/1/09

Hot dog! It’s National Mustard Day, one whole entire day dedicated to a condiment that is believed in sacred circles to provide both a sort of physical as well as a psychic protection from all people, places or things that try to get all up in your grill.

Mustard seed is an ancient remedy long used by holistic practitioners in formulas that promise to increase physiological circulation and oxygenation as well as for assisting the body in eliminating acid wastes and toxins.

But I first learned to use mustard seed in a far different way.

Many years ago I had an Ayurvedic teacher who would school me in the similarities between the Hindu sacred texts called the Upanishads and the book that we all know as the Bible.

He taught me that when you are praying for something or someone really hard and with great intent, that you should go outdoors and say the prayers while holding a handful of mustard seed.

Then, when the prayer was finished, you release the mustard to the winds and have total faith that your prayer will be answered.
